Creating Excellence Through People

My First Real AI Experience

I've been slowly opening the door to focus on the value of AI including how it can help with marketing my business.

I will be the first to admit I’ve been slow to get behind AI. Although it is used to make tremendous strides in numerous industries, I get stuck in the murky depths of the risks that may come along with using AI. Lately, I’ve been working to educate myself and slowly opening the door to focus on the value of AI, including how it can help with the marketing of Level Up Solutions.

As an adjunct instructor, my biggest concern is students using AI to generate written assignments. And it’s happened. This is on my weekly radar when grading assignments. Good old-fashioned paper writing is not the assignment of choice for many students who are more invested in finding a way to get around the writing instead of just putting pen to paper or fingers on the keyboard and busting out an essay. At the same time, there is no denying that AI can be used to enhance written assignments. Finding a fair balance can be challenging for the stressed-out college student simply wanting to complete an assignment versus taking a deep dive into the content and citing sources. My goal in class has been to encourage the enhancement of our resourcefulness with AI instead of allowing it to hinder our learning.

In terms of Level Up Solutions, I need all the marketing support I can get. As a high S on the DISC profile, this people development consultant/teacher/career coach is more of a connector than a sales pro. Being a connector makes me good at leading the way in the operations of Level Up Solutions and bringing value to clients. Along the same lines, I love making professional connections on LinkedIn, but my stomach drops every time I accept a connection, only to receive a marketing message within seconds. So, can AI help me keep connecting and growing my clientele while avoiding being that person to someone else?

Here is an example of how surrounding yourself with people who know more than you really works. Level Up website creator and administrator Amanda Knapper recently shared a post on LinkedIn about using Google Notebook to create an audio conversation to discuss her services. Hmmm…. could this be an opportunity for Level Up Solutions? Okay, AI. Here’s your chance to shine, at least in my eyes.

By simply plugging in the Level Up Solutions website address, Google Notebook was able to generate a 13-minute summary of the business, my background, and focus on some of my interesting content all in the format of a podcast review.

Here’s everything you want to know before you listen:

  • The summary context was about 90% accurate.
  • Oddly enough, over half of the summary focused on the Level Up Model, which I had recently removed from the website to make space for testimonials.
  • The Level Up Model continues to serve as a philosophy that I created from numerous theories that are incorporated into client collaborations, but I felt like the space on the website would be better invested by sharing testimonials. Who would’ve thought AI would be offering me feedback on that decision?
  • There was an honest, yet almost eerie echo, in the summary about what motivated me to start Level Up Solutions. I recently saw a quote from Rory Vaden that said, “You are most powerfully positioned to serve the person you once were.” Reflecting on my professional and personal journeys, I see so many parallels with the experiences and journeys of others, especially in the workplace. These parallels influence both business and career, which are ultimately integrated when we really look at human resources, learning and development, and the capacity of a business to reach and sustain success. Both HR and L&D are foundational service offerings of Level Up Solutions.
  • Finally, being that high S usually doesn’t contribute to me tooting my own horn. However, there were a few moments when I felt extremely flattered by AI and its kind words.

So, where do you stand on AI? Does your business utilize it to connect with clients or make work easier and more efficient? Have you run into any barriers, or should we all be capitalizing on this technology?  I would love to receive your feedback. By the way, Amanda and I will be working on finding more space on the website to bring back the Level Up Model. Thanks, AI!

Now, for the moment I hope you have been waiting for, here’s AI’s summary of Level Up Solutions:
